USED BOOKS
August 2002

SUMMARY
Afte the Society of Academic Authors objected to a media kit from that National Association of College Stores that recommended to college students that they opt for used books whenever possible, NACS President Ken Bowers responded:

August 19, 2002
Mr.Vivian:

Thanks for taking the time to express the views of your association regarding our published advice to college students. We are always looking for ways to support the academic community. That certainly includes your members as academic authors as well as our student customers. The NACS staff and I will certainly consider your points when working on the next media kit. Perhaps we can take all of this one step further and find ways to work more closely with your association in the future. Since your members are interested in the sell through of their publications and we are booksellers, we should have some natural agreement in the academic bookselling arena.

Again, thanks for your response. Let's make sure that we talk further.
